2005 Chicago Acronym Bash: You know, if this idea caught on during the year, there would not only be a lot more charitable giving, but better cooperation amongst like organizations - rather than competition for the same audiences and thus potential members. This would be a nice change - because believe it or not, according to data from the Giving Source Foundation and AAFRC Trust for Philanthropy/Giving USA, only around 6% of all charitable donations come from corporate America - eclipsed by a whopping 75% given simply by individuals. This event is a great example of what could become a trend across the nation and world if the leaders of these membership organizations were to have more open dialogue in order to find commonalities and synergies that could contribute to their mutual sustainability and strength, rather than always fighting for the same audiences and against general attrition factors. Maybe a few new years resolutions will lean that direction...see the rest of the Blog for photos and more details... www.acronymbash.com Chicago AMA: Chicago chapter of the American Marketing Association BMA: Business Marketing Association CADM : Chicago Association of Direct Marketing CAF : Chicago Advertising Federation MACC : Medill Alumni Club of Chicago The charity beneficiary of the event: Chicago Tribune Holiday Giving, a campaign of Chicago Tribune Charities, a McCormick Tribune Foundation Fund GIVING PHILOSOPHY The Chicago Tribune's giving philosophy is in keeping with the company's mission: to make a difference in our customers’ day and have an impact on their lives.
