More IT hiring expected in Q3: surveyAbout 20% of New York metro area chief information officers anticipate adding full-time information technology staffers during the third quarter, while 4% expect to cut IT jobs , according to a survey commissioned by Robert Half Technologies.

The 16% net result tops the second-quarter figure by three percentage points and is five points higher than the national average.

Robert Half, which has been tracking IT hiring activity in the U.S. since 1995, polled 1,400 executives nationwide, including 200 in New York City; Long Island; Dutchess, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster, and Westchester counties; Fairfield, Conn.; northern and central New Jersey; and Pike, Pa.

The local results reflect a rolling average of responses over two quarters.
